Handmade Presents: Fournier

February 07, 2015 1 min read

To kick off the new blog series, Handmade Presents, I'd like to introduce you to Fournier. A socially conscious and environmentally friendly knit brand. I've always had a great appreciation for handmade shops, as the detail and craftsmanship that goes into each product always surpasses my expectations. Fournier designs and produces a beautiful range of knits including children's clothing, accessories, and toys made of the finest baby alpaca wool, organic cotton and pima cotton. Anabel Fournier founded the brand in 2004 while living in Bolivia. Hand knit and produced by artisans, Fournier takes pride in making one of a kind pieces that are sure to become heirlooms.

As I was on Instagram perusing my feed, I stumbled upon Fournier's Instagram that was filled with beautiful pictures of her adorable soft toys and more. Giving just a peek of the behind the scenes of how these toys are made, I immediately checked out her online shop and bought Moonie– the cutest little cuddly friend we ever did see! When I was younger, I don't really recall handmade items of this caliber. Maybe it was the time of mass production, but I love the idea that Moonie is one of a kind, and made to last for Greyson to eventually hand him down to his own children one day.

Although Moonie is no longer available to purchase, Fournier recently launched their Spring & Summer collection filled with just as cute cuddly friends!

xx, T
