Homeschool with Kindergarten Tool Kit
When a baby is born premature, there are so many uncertainties, and you always wonder if your child is going to be able to have the same quality of life as other children. So far, regardless of our ups and downs, Olivia has been able to live a great life. She may not be able to do the same things as other children, but we are truly blessed.
Around Fall/Winter time, flu season becomes pretty serious in our home. With Olivia's premature immune system, coupled with her Asthma and Chronic Lung Disease–most simple colds turn into month long battles. Unfortunately with all the germs from pre-school and how cold it's been this Winter, I had to take Olivia out of school. At least until it warms up a bit. We have a awesome school district with a stellar staff who support us, and Olivia's condition, which makes the transitions pretty seamless. Olivia's teacher comes to our home a couple days a week and teachers her one on one. Unfortunately she still has her own classes and meetings, so on the days she is not scheduled to come over, I try to do things to keep that active brain growing!
I usually have an activity box, which I switch out with different learning cards, games, and puzzles for the littles to work on after breakfast. I recently stumbled upon this opportunity to work with Carrie and utilize the Kindergarten Tool Kit, which has really helped give me some guidance to helping them learn in creative ways. I was actually pretty surprised to see them sit and really focus being that they are 2 and 4 years old. When they are together, activities are far more challenging than one on one, yet they did so well with the kit and love it! How cute are these two little babes excited to learn! Oh my heart.
