Comparison is the thief of Joy

It's been heavy on my heart during this season of life so let's chat about comparison, and how easy it is to feel that your life isn't as great as others. With social media being a major influence in our everyday life, it's pretty common to compare your world to all those around you! Especially these perfect little squares. So many moments that are documented, photographed and shared, sometimes leave you feeling inadequate. Whether that be in motherhood, friendships, business or even health—we constantly compare.
As much as we like to believe the grass is greener on the other side we see, the grass is greenest where we water it.  If you haven't already noticed, there's been a theme this year that exudes from a majority of these posts, and that is SELF GROWTH. Why? Because behind this brand is a woman, a mother, a creative being who has a dream, but struggles just like you.
My goal as I continue to grow this brand is to cultivate a community of women, mothers, and all those who need it, to continue to grow, and flourish to all that you are destined to be! It's always been in my heart to uplift those who surround me. A calling that I am finally listening to. You are my community. You are more than just a follower and/or customer to me! Do not allow the comparison of your beginning deter you when looking at someone else's middle. Do not allow the joy of the journey, to be lost upon you. There is so much meaning and value on your voyage to being the best you. Take stride in knowing that no matter where you are, or what you have—the best is yet to come.

Here are 5 tips that I have implemented on my journey of growth:

"Gratitude is my attitude" (quoted via @momcrushmonday):
I wake up each more with gratitude for everything good and not so good in my life. Regardless, I am blessed and remind myself that each day I am closer to achieving my goals and aspirations. Fulfilling each day with a heart filled to its capacity with gratitude instead of negativity, does wonders.

Be Intentional with my thoughts & actions:
I am a people pleaser by nature, so it took a long time to realize how much it had held me back. Being intentional forces you to reshape your thoughts and actions to reflect what you truly desire. When life got the best of me and I was unhappy with where I was headed, I had to take a step back and really reassess by intentions. By doing so, I had to make difficult life changing decisions, that ultimately would realign my intentions, with my happiness. I've learned to say no to things, people, projects, etc that do not align with my intentions and I feel like a brand new person.

"Focus on service; not success" (quoted via @jennakutcher):
This is huge because with running a business, all you really want is success, right? Wrong. It took time, and many mistakes to realize that shifting my focus to serving others and bringing real value to their life was a direct reflection of success. My legacy does not compute in currency, but in how I impacted the people who were uplifted, empowered, and encouraged through my service.

Affirmations:
Affirming your thoughts will help align your actions to follow suit.  When you think it, you become it, so its important to start each day with positive affirmations that in due time, will come to fruition.
1.) I am the architect of my life; I build its foundation and choose its contents.
2.) Today, I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy.
3.) My body is healthy; my mind is brilliant; my soul is tranquil.
4.) I am superior to negative thoughts and low actions.
5.) I have been given endless talents which I begin to utilize today.

Be the best version of you:
Beyonce didn't become Beyonce in one day, and either will you. By continuously working towards being the best version of you, ultimately you will be. Every step toward your goals, and happiness is exactly that: one step closer. Our minds are a powerful machine that can make or break you, so figure out who you are, what you want, and go out there and be the best version you can be.  Even if you aren’t exactly where you want to be today, love yourself, remind yourself how capable, strong, and incredible you are, and that no matter what, there is only one of you.

xx, T
