Meet Greyson Alexander

December 08, 2014 2 min read

I can't believe it's been one month since I delivered Greyson. It feels like just yesterday we were anxiously counting down his arrival. I've been wanting to have his pictures taken ever since he was born but my recovery has been so slow. After finally feeling like my self, somewhat, I decided to dive on in yesterday. Also, he has grown so much in this past month that I really wanted to capture his tiny self before he got any bigger. They really do grow like weeds, don't they? Now I'll be honest, I am not a photographer by any means, but I figured I would give it a go. If there is one thing I learned with newborn photography, it is the master of patience. There is good reason that most newborn photos are to be taken within the first 4-5 days of life. As they get older, they become more aware of their surroundings and voice what they don't like, loudly! It took a couple of hours but I got some really great shots, especially of Liv & Grey.

If you're following me on Instagram, you'd know that I was anxious about how Liv would take to Grey. I feel really lucky that the transition from one to two has been pretty amazing. She absolutely adores him and my heart just about explodes seeing her interact with him. There are those moments when they both need my attention and she cries because she can't understand why Im holding him and not her, but those moments seem to happen less with each passing day. To be honest, I feel kind of silly that I wasn't overjoyed when I first found out we were having a boy. I guess I was used to having a girl and in some way, having another little girl would make losing Abigail a little less painful. I'll never know if that is true but I do know that I can't imagine my life without him. Greyson completes me. I've always heard that there is a special bond between a mother and son, and they sure weren't lying. Happy one month my sweet boy, I thank my lucky stars that I was blessed with you -- you are a dream come true!
